First the good news: You have 2 more days to decide, I will collect the forms on Monday.
Now, there is a need for me to commit a few personal views on subject options.
1) You have had a taste of ALL the subjects by now, ask yourself what can you do well.
You choose a subject that you can do well and you like. Having good results at sec 4 is what you should aim for. Some people say certain subject combination has "no future". I strongly disagree. How could a school offer you subject combination that has no future? No school in our education system will do such a thing. ALL combination has a future. A pupil who does not work hard has no future already, subject combination doesn't matter to such a person.
2) As for those who have a dream, go on and dream.
Choose a path that allows you to pursue your dream. The feeling of taking little steps nearer to your dream is immensly satisfying. If you do not have a dream, oh... you don't know what you are missing! Start to dream big dreams.
3) Don't be deceived! I have countless of "Is this subject difficult?" and the more direct form "which subject is easier?" on a bad day, you may get my reply "go sleep at home, easiest!" Come on! Be a man! If choosing subjects boils down to this question, you should just go to a poor country, chop your own feet off and spend the rest of your life begging for food. Some kind of contentment, you want?
4) I agree that there are more conducive classes and less conducive ones by the time you promote to sec three, I agree that some may want to check out what did that disruptive student choose and delibrately avoid that class. Chances are, you will be back to square one. The truth is you will meet new friends and God forbid, new enemies in sec three. Luckily, my assessment for your entire batch this year is there are no really terrible individuals. So just go ahead and choose. (2C, you are a good class,
go make a difference wherever you will be posted to and may all sec three classes next year be as good or even better.)
After making your choice, remember to study hard. There are three signs to look out for when one is really studying. They are: 1Reading up, 2writing and taking notes, 3thinking and asking questions. As oppose to 1Opening books for display only, 2having plenty of stationery on display but listening to mp3, 3thinking and deciding which place is most comfortable to put up a "study-show". Be true to yourself, you will know when you are really learning and when you are wasting your time putting up a show.
Lastly,
if you cannot get what you like, like what you get. (Old version)
Another version,
like what you get, then get what you like.
Final version,
Like what you get. Period.
